Adelman is one of the better coaches in the game and he was explicit in saying he wanted Williams to concentrate on the 4 because he was struggling guarding wings IN PRACTICE. So who are those wings in practice? Beasley and Wes, presumably. If Williams is struggling with Beasley and Wes IN PRACTICE then how can anyone expect him to be ahead of them in the rotation? I’m always concerned about guys who were 4s in college transitioning to the 3. Those are two totally different skillsets. Totally different. And I think we’re seeing that with Beasley (he’d be better off as a small 4) and with Williams.

I also heard Kahn on KFAN last week echoing Rick’s sentiments about Williams, and sounding a little disappointed) that he had been unable to grasp defensive perimeter schemes more quickly. It was Kahn, FWIW.

Beasley is hard…if not impossible.. to trade. Miami gave him away for a 2nd round pick and I’m not really sure he has made himself more valuable. He doesnt sell tickets like some volume shooters do, he cant help a team win and none of that seems to bother him. I think the T-Wolves might just have to wait till his contract expires. He has a player option next year (consider that accepted) then he can walk.

i just want to get to the point beasley will be traded before the end of the season Williams needs to start and behind him Welesy Johnson.Beasley will not play a back up role with his salary so he will be traded then Rubio will begin to start IM sure by next month Rubio and Williams will start Beasley gone and Barea at SG

I too am excited to see Williams get a chance to start but from what I have read he has had difficulty adjusting to the SF position. In fact, Adelman had him focus on the PF position during camp until he got comfortable. That was a while ago and hopefully he can handle the extra pressure.

How he can sprain his foot and never sprain his shooting wrist is a modern miracle. The better the T-Wolves get the more out of place Beasley will feel. He is the embodiment of a player that gets his stats on bad teams. Next stop Toronto or Charlotte.

Phenomenal news. Williams needs a chance to start. He has outplayed Beasley so much this year, he deserves it. Now when will Adelman wise up and start Rubio? Ridnour is painfully incompetent this season, definitely better suited for a back up role.
