If he had just “Yelled at her” I don’t think there would be a problem. However, for the few reading comprehension challenged people here (not most of you, just a few) I’ll try to help.

1. He verbally threatened her with physical assault: “B****, meet me outside. I will kick you’re a**’.” (I bet he wouldn’t have said that to a male ref – I imagine like most bullies he’s pretty much a wuss)

2. He threw a ball at her once. The again at a “high rate of speed” according to witnesses. Both times she was hit. OK – I maybe could let the first one go – but the second one is the problem. (Again, I doubt he throws a ball at a high rate of speed at a male ref. See “wuss” comment above)

He’s a loser. It is her right to press charges, as this crossed all kinds of lines. He’ll get off easy. The team should require anger management for him, and I suspect he has a problem with women in authority overall – which would make him an even bigger wuss.

Let me start by saying i am a liberal democrat that is pro-choice etc so i am not anti-women. Although what he did was wrong, it should’ve never had a chance to happen because women should not be refereeing in NBA games. They just shouldn’t. They aren’t good at it for one. Secondly they get no respect from any of the players or coaches and rightfully so. It’s ridiculous. The political correctness is out of control. The WNBA loses so much money and is a laughing stock but the NBA bankrolls it for political purposes. But if there is going to be a WNBA, let the women ref those lousy games and leave the greatest athletes in the world alone.

Wasn’t an NBA game. It was a charity affair that operates independently. No ‘rules’ – for the most part. Having said that, he should go through the process as any other person would; face a judge and have a verdict rendered. If the verdict is ‘guility of a crime’, then he should have to face the same punishment as anyone else. Period.

While I agree that this guy is a class-act jerk, a possible 6 months in jail for throwing a basketball at someone is beyond comprehension. The guy is a classless punk who will, and should be boo’d at every game he plays in…..but a possible six months jail time? This was a glorified pick up game. Have you never seen pushing, shoving, basketball throwing, or worse at your local court? He said his apologizes, and now has forever been villianized, move on.

The problem is it goes both ways. That lady would likely never have filed suit if it hadn’t been a professional basketball player that yelled and threw a ball at her. It seems really weird that Lowry got so worked up in a charity game, but unless she was really injured I don’t see a reason to press charges.

I wasn’t aware that yelling at someone is breaking the law if that were the case then every player would be arrested during every game. When Kobe called a referee a f*g last year should he have gotten charged? This a joke people are way too sensitive. If she can’t stand the heat she needs to get the f out of the kitchen
