Finally we get some recognition. People who say we have great fans are right. No self praise intended. I’ve been to games where we’re down 15 but people keep chanting defense and stuff. It’s a great atmosphere.

Good to see the Blazers doing so well.they have a great fan base and Nate McMillen is a by underrated coach.

They are title contenders. I can’t remember if I’ve said that here or to my friends, but they have a legit shot to upset anyone. Will they win it all? Most likely not, my money’s not on it, but I wouldn’t be terribly surprised.

They’re a really good team, but they’re going to wear down. Nate likes to wear people down, play a short bench, and this is the wrong year for that.

I absolutely agree with you. Nate has been a great coach from day one. He worked similar magic in Seattle. He coaches just like he played, low key, steady, intelligently, with a defensive-minded slant. He’s not a glory seeker and seems always in full control of his team and temperament. Nate is a low maintenance, high output guy who I have followed and admired since his days at NC State.

Nate McMillan really deserves more credit for coaching this team up. Gone are the JailBlazers, and in are a bunch of no nonsense high IQ basketball guys. Every year they seem to face a rash of injuries, but he keeps them in contention. Showing a willingness to change up the tempo for the team is another sign of a quality coach. Let’s see if they can keep this torrid pace up.

Their success makes you wonder how great this team could be if Greg Oden and Brandon Roy were healthy enough to play.
