Great play call by Spoelstra:

Kevin Love..what a horrible defender. When the player you are covering is a 6″11 forward and sets a screen for a 6″4 superstar dashing to the rim…you HAVE to hedge the roller. Love never even looked at Wade. He probably never even called the Bosh screen out to his teammates. Instead, he simply pushed Bosh out to halfcourt and further got in the way of Rubio trying to track Wade down.
That is inexcusable for an NBA player, especially for one who supposedly has high basketball IQ.
At the very least, he should have recognized what was happening (since he was watching the whole play develop) and then called out to the weak side defenders to come to the rim.

I feel bad for Rubio – he’s made to look dumb here even though he had no chance b/c of Love’s idiotic defensive mistakes.

After this play they clearly discuss the imperfection of Bron’s lob pass..that there was some level of miscommunication. It’s in the body language that we see who the big brother is…and that Lebron is still a kid at heart, feeling the heat of the big moment. This is not hating on Lebron but just analyzing the situation.

Big heat fan here. Not sure I’d worry too much about the close games against the Bobcats and Lobos. Remember these are one time visits for the Heat and both the cities and teams get UP for the Heat. If the Heat when by 1 against these guys at home then I’d be worried, but on the road at the start of the season not a problem. The big thing is the Heat executed down the stretch and if it was not for Jimmy’s bone headed full court heave to Bosh…err…Haslem….wait…Bosh??? Then Heat win by 3.

very true about the t-wolves..rubio is proving people wrong, however it is still worrisome w the lack of an inside game (due to lack of big, physcial center which joel anthony is not)

I can see blowing Charlotte out, but people are starting to under estimate the Wolves. They have been competitive in all 3 games so far. Easily could be 3-0. They lost to arguably the best team in the east, Miami by 2, lost by 3 at Milwaukee after being down 20, and lost to Oklahoma City, maybe the best team in the west by 4.

being a heat fan, this game and the one against charlotte scare me. we are playing to close of games when we should be blowing teams out. we are still closing teams out but…
