Wait…so all the owners got from the deal was more money…which means the players got less…but we’re selectively seeing greed if we point it out here on ticket pricing, where players have no input? Really? Just for curiosity’s sake: does Dolan hang to the left or right and is it straight or does it have a bend to it?

This looks really bad, but totally unfair until you compare it to other teams prices for the same seats. Then again, this is PBT’s coverage of the Knicks so I doubt anyone took it seriously.

The “horrible broken system” is still in place because the owners opted to go for a cash grab from the players rather than trying to get big system changes.

In that labor dispute, the owners were going to be able to get more money for themselves, or make huge changes to the system, but not both. The players would have never agreed to both. So the owners took the cash.

And by the way, if the system is so horribly broken, then why did the NBA have it’s best ratings in years last year?

This should not be a shock. Look at our House of Representatives, the poor and elderly are tossed aside. But if you’re rich, all is good. You’ll get another tax break on the backs of the Middle/Poor class. Tax break for the rich = Knicks court-side handicap seats. Priceless.

The point of this is that they raised their courtside disabled seats from $300.00 to $2,850.00. Is that cool with you? Because I think it sucks for Alanzo George. And nobody really said the owners won did they? I sure as hell didn’t. And that danielcp0303 cat (kat) is only pointing out the type of people all the blindly pro-management types we backing.

Is this even legal? I’m not sure, but doesn’t the ADA have something to say about jacking prices on handicapped accessible seating?

You shouldn’t be allowed to “offer” handicap seats but then price them over and above what everyone else is paying; such a move could be interpreted as franchise/arena management trying to limit attendance by disabled ticketbuyers (so bad for television and such a pain in the ass for the ushers to deal with).

It is because the luxury boxes are now courtside. There are no more ‘courtside seats’. They are all tied into luxury boxes are under the stands, no longer up top above the 1st 2 levels.

No doubt this is a ridiculously steep price increase but… Do you think that Mets tickets cost as much this season as they did the year Citi Field opened? Supply & Demand. If you are selling a limited quantity of a product would you not try to get the most $ you can possibly get for that product?
There is insane hype in NY surrounding the Knicks this year. PBT power rankings have them ranked 6 overall. That is a big difference from 6th worst in the league like a few years ago.
That Toney Douglas comment was unnecessary.
