You know, doing it the Yankees, NY Knicks, Miami Heat, Lakers (Shaq) way. Superstar players with their out-of-control egos gravitate towards playing in big market cities in today’s NBA to feed their ego.

Lebron didn’t go to Miami to join the Heat, he went to Miami to be in the city of Miami. Melo didn’t go to New York because of the Knicks, he joined the Knicks to be in New York. You big market fans need to get over yourself. These superstar players don’t come to your city for your team. They come to your big market city for the big market media and the limelight. Pay Lebron $50 million and he’ll play for Miami High School as long as ESPN was there to cover it.

And don’t try to tell me that small market teams don’t pay their players and that’s why they leave for big market teams or I’ll post some team salary stats and make you look stupid.

Hey Lakers fans, now you know how it feels to be a Toronto, Cleveland, New Orleans and Denver fan. Especially after Kobe demands a trade within a few weeks and he creates a new super team in another Big Market city not named L.A.

This time the Lakers are trying to send some decent pieces Orlando’s way. You can argue about the value of the pieces, but in the end it’s pretty simple-

Shaq for nothing = bad

Howard for something (most likely something valuable) = better

Stop being a joke for a sec, please. if the Hornets had a real owner, which trade do you think they’d take? The one from the Lakers or the ones from the Clippers?

you can put together all the picks that NO got now, and they’ll never accomplish what Gasol and Odom have done..

Get the Magic to throw in Nelson in exchange for a draft pick and Chris Paul won’t be missed at all.

Or just get Baron Davis to come home and play for the hometown heroes.

I know he’s only played one season, but Al-Farouq Aminu doesnt seem to have a future of becoming an elite to All-Star talent. He reminds me a lot like Ryan Gomes. A very solid NBA player, but nothing out of the ordinary. So lets not act like he is some type of huge “get”. He is still young, so I could easily be wrong, (wont be the first time) but there was nothing that he showed last season, or in college to make me think otherwise.

Chris Kaman is a straight salary dump, we all know that. So while this is great for a financially struggling franchise, I dont see Kaman making this team better. Then we have Eric Gordon. I know he has shown flashes, especially last season, but lets not overlook he has still yet to play a full NBA season due to injuries, and his TS% has dropped in each of his seasons. How some of you can call Gordon a better player than Kevin Martin is kind of laughable. Again, maybe Gordon becomes better, but as it stands now Martin has a higher TS%, higher PER, better defender, commits fewer turnovers all the while having a lower usage rate:

Again, Gordon could improve he’s only entering his 4th season, with last season being by far his best, however you could argue he had his best season last year, due to the fact that he was playing with a great player (Blake Griffin) who was the focal point of opposing defenses. In NO he will become their number 1 option so it wouldn’t surprise me to see his numbers drop again.

Then add Scola ,who is getting old, but is still a very good player who obviously is vastly underrated by the mainstream media and casual fans, in addition to Odom, & the Hornets would have been in the playoff hunt this season. Again, I know the Clipper deal puts them in a potentially better position moving forward, mainly because of Minny’s unprotected 1st round pick, but the notion that from an on the court standpoint the Lakers deal was inferior is just absurd in my opinion.

1) Stern and Gilbert were right that there were better offers out there; and

2) the Lakers are mad that they had to compete with offers outside the artificially created market consisting of themselves, New York (who had nothing) and Boston, which greatly reduced Paul’s value?
