If he took the money and started whinning about his contract after he signs it most of you guys will be on his case asking why did he sign the contract and a contract is a contract so on a certain level he should do what he thinks is best in these negotiations. On another level base on his talent level I think this is a more than fair offer. I’ve watched him play and he’s a nice enough player but I can think of a host of other pgs I’d rather have than Stuckey.

That can still work. However, the Pistons team that won it was a team full of just below superstar guys (Sheed, Billups, Rip in his prime etc), the team he is buiding now seems to be a team full of role players. When that is what you have, you NEED the superstar.

NBA contracts are a joke (I know, no huge surprise). The fact that Stuckey is even being offered $45 million is a farce. He’s an awful defender, who doesnt rebound well, one of the worst passers for starting point guards and his eFG% leaves much to be desired.

Last season wasn’t completely awful but considering it was his contract year, it doesn;t leave much room for optimism.

He is a solid role player for a contending team, but since the Pistons suck they look at him as a centerpiece. Which is completely wrong. Let this guy walk, and let another team overspend for him. Detroit has to really rearrange things if they want to get back to their contending levels from a few seasons past. Offering Stuckey this much money is not the step in the right direction.

Bad free agent contracts for Ben Gordon and Charlie V a couple years ago. 4 years for Prince a couple weeks ago, and now a 5 year offer to Suckey (left out the “t” on purpose). Dumars is insane. Suckey will never be a real point guard. Brandon Knight is the future. Looks like Dumars wants to make sure the Pistons are no more than a .500 team for the foreseeable future. He got lucky in 2004 with his no-superstar championship and thinks that way can still work. Hope the new owner wakes up soon and cans Dumars.

He is an OK player that needs to be surrounded by other guys to excel. Not a 10 mil a year guy IMO
