He’s off the books, but the Cavs pay it out in two years minus whatever any team that picks him up pays which’ll be league minimum at best.

I think you’re confusing amnesty with the stretch provision. As for the Clips getting robbed, I’d say hardly. They’re a playoff team now at a minimum. Good luck saying the same thing about the Cavs anytime soon.

Well then if that’s the case then that just further solidifies my previous statement. The Cavs won big time.
However, I think that the team that picks him up only pays what they put on the table to scoop him up. The former team still has to pick up the rest of the tab and spread it out twice the length of the contract plus one year. Hence the 5 years.

Just an FYI, Baron expires this year, not next. Also, he is looking at possibly 3 months of being out with a bulging disc. So please, keep bashing the Cavs instead of bein logical.

its a player option the cavs wouldn’t pay it the new team would. The cavs are only on the hook for his salary this year.

I feel you man on all things Dan Gilbert related but one thing. The Cavs pretty much robbed the Clippers w/o the ski mask getting the number 1 pick for essentially nothing but a dump off of Mo Williams. B.Diddy’s contract is not gonna count against the Cavs books and they’ll pay it throug the course of 5 years in small increments. Chump change for that whimpering, sniveling little prick.

Gilbert’s paying this guy $29 million over the next two years to not play for him. How many times does he have to re-prove his ineptitude as an owner?
