Dirk has been one of the most consistent elite players in the league, regardless of what kind of year the Mavs have, what strategy the team hold him to or how long the season is, Dirk always provide, is reliable and deliver. Also the fact you say he is not the same from last season before he plays a single game in this one just show how short your basketball sight is.

I thought Cuban was one of the owners complaining about competitive balance and not wanting CP3 in LA. I guess it’s okay if a small market team loads up on stars. Though old, Dallas may have more All-Stars than any team in the league. So, why is it okay to load up on old stars but not stars in their prime?

I do not see the virtue of the Mavs reshuffling with Rudy and Brewer

1) Mavs trade Jordan Hamilton on draft day (a first round pick) for Rudy Fernandez. Then we hear all the hype about Rudy Fernandez since draft day till yesterday how he is going to be a big contributor. GONE!!

2) Corey Brewer’s athleticism…GONE!!!

I understand Mavs want to trade for draft picks but a 2nd round pick in 2016…why not a first rounder in 2050 while you are in mood for trades? They could have traded and got some veterans back from other teams for Brewer and Rudy. Not sure what Donnie and Mark are thinking, net net they gave up Jordan Hamilton a first rounder to Denver for Rudy and now they give Rudy and Brewer to Denver for a 2nd rounder. Why not just keep an athletically gifted Jordan Hamilton and you had Brewer too, you could have moved them both for a good role player if you had to, if not, Mavs fan would be happy with Brewer and Hamilton.

For their sake, they better land Dwight Howard in free agency considering he leaves Orlando! Sure Williams and Paul are great pgs but they are gonna need a beast like Howard to take the load off of Dirk who is a good player but not the Dirk of yesteryear

Good move by the mavs. This shortened season with a compressed schedule is going to be hard on vets. If their key pieces can stay healthy and they scoop up Williams or Paul I think they can have a legit run at the title. It all sways on dirk though.
