As a Mavs fan I ahave to agree with Cubalakeshow. I don’t get this move. Billups would be a better fit. Of course, I’d live to get Howard. Other than those, two, there is no one else of significant out there. Chandler will be missed big time. There is no way Haywood steps in and plays Chandler’s role. Mavs may not make the play-off this year if this is the best they can do.

Are you seriously comparing Stevenson to Carter? Stevenson can play great defense, always has, and still can. Has
Vince Carter EVER played defense? Even when he was young and healthy?

This makes about as much sense as the Magic trading Brandon Bass to get Glen Davis.

And with all that said, is Stevenson still in the Mavericks roster? Or is he definitely gone?

My lamp in my living room has taken more charges this year than Carter has probably in his entire career the mans 34 and Caron is 31. With Caron and Stevenson you can actually throw them at the best offensive player on any given night and they won’t do a terrible job can’t say the same for Carter this move makes no sense to me. First no Chandler and now they add Carter….did they not like winning a championship??? I think they should just sign David Stern to play for them that way at least he can veto a few points here and there.

Decent signing… I believe at this stage him and Caron are near equal… I doubt Stevenson ever plays at the level he did last year…. Carlisle gets the most out of vets… Very intriguing move

I’d actually rather have Deshawn Stevenson than Vince. At least Deshawn is funny and can play defense. Vince ehhh .. well at least he’s always good for a nice overselling of a minor injury 10-20 times a season, so thats kind of fun.

Pretty good, low-risk signing for Dallas. I think the loss of Chandler is going to hurt and there’s still the Barea situation, but maybe Cuban has a few tricks up his sleeve. Not a lot of quality bigs left out there.
