Butler is a good player with something left in the tank. He’s a team guy that plays with a chip on his shoulder…. And this is coming from a mavs fan

On a young team, you need a veteran player, maybe a few with experience to teach and lead. It’s not like Butler is a head case. He leads by example. Might have definitely over paid, but he will help your young roster.

I mean it’s an extra 2 or 3 million for a guy on a team that has plenty of underpaid talented young players (Griffin and Gordon make less than 10 million combined) and Kaman’s 12.5 might find a home somewhere in a trade. It’s a big gamble but then again, it’s only 3 years so I think it’s a nice move.

Do you get paid to write these blogs? Caron Butler is an absolute perfect fit for this team. They had one positional need and they filled it with the best option on the market. Not only is it not a “perplexing” deal, it makes so much sense that im vomiting all over my keyboard.
