The true scam was the KG to Boston deal. The TWolves got nothing.

At least the Grizz got Marc Gasol, who actually outplayed his older brother in the playoffs last season..and will probably do so going forward.

So, if the deal was such a scam, let’s undo it right now. Lakers fans won’t complain.

What we know of Kapono doesn’t bode well. But we don’t know the system he’ll be playing in just yet, so perhaps his limited skill set can be maximized. While I also would like to see our youngs play more, with the condensed schedule I think rotations will be going deep on all teams this year, so not too terrible to have Kapono up against other 3rd stringers.

And Jerry West was nowhere near Memphis at the time of that trade. If they’d like a do-over, I’m sure the Lakers would send them Pau back for Marc.

It’s true the Lakers needed better outside shooting, but what really hurt them in the playoffs last year was their porous defense due to old, tired legs and bad rotations. Kapono is not going to fix that problem. He might make some shots during the regular reason, but will find himself firmly entrenched at the end of the bench come playoff time.

Um… are you serious? Kupchak was responsible for trading Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol, one of the best trades in the last decade as far as the Lakers are concerned.

Sixers aren’t even close to being an awful team.

But Jason Kapono is an awful player. Can’t play defense. Can’t rebound. Can barely dribble or pass. He can shoot well when he is left wide open. If you contest the shot or force him to adjust his shot even slightly, it’s a guaranteed miss.

People keep thinking he’s Kyle Korver, who is a guy that can actually hit contested jump shots, but Kapono isn’t even close to being on Korver’s level.

The Sixers are an awful team, and the simple fact that he was rendered a benchwarmer on such a pitiful squad doesn’t shine a positive light on his future.
