Barea is nowhere near their most important back-up & Butler isn’t their 2nd best player….Remember Jason Terry – the guy who hit all those 3s in game 6 & the guy who won 6th man of the year not too long ago? Hes the most important back up.

Also, remember that Butler missed THE ENTIRE CHAMPIONSHIP RUN. They won without him before. You could argue Chandler, Kidd or JET were 2nd best, but not Butler.

Seems appropriate this was written by a Lakers fans. Hope you enjoyed that sweep last April.

I totally agree, Chandler is their X factor they need to dominate the paint in for big games and series. Barea although not a big name, is a mismatch for defenses and has single-handedly won them games last season and in the playoffs. And to repeat, you cant roll in with the same exact team, you need to come out better, and that means re-signing butler and going for it all at full speed. I hate how Bron RUINED the sport by encouraging players to group up, and how teams are co-operating by clearing house to sign them.

Deng wouldnt be enough to get the bulls Monta Ellis; as long as he’s on GS hes one of the most untouchable players to acquire via trade. He would be the perfect player for the bulls to have tho.

I agree, ultimately, I’d like to see Butler re-sign in Dallas but if he doesn’t Chicago seems like the ideal situation. I don’t think Chicago needs to mess with anything they’ve got. All they lack is another perimeter scorer who can create his own shot to compliment Rose. Oh, and Butler is also a great hard-nosed defender who will fit in perfectly in Thibodeau’s system.

If Buter isn’t going to sign with the Mav’s, I hope he goes to Chicago. He gives them the shooting they need and a lot of flexibility, in that he can play the 2 or the 3. With Butler in hand, they could even use Deng in a trade to get another shooter, like Monta Ellis. Rose, Ellis, Butler, Boozer & Noah would be pretty tough to beat.

I think the Mav’s are counting on no deal getting done for Howard this year and he will be available as a free agent next year. That’s a big gamble.

Kiss re-peating goodbye Dallas. Not re-signing your 2nd best player (Butler), 2nd most important player (Chandler), most important back-up (Barea), and no word on an extention for the 2nd most important player during the finals (Terry) spells disaster. All for the sake of maaaybe pulling in a star player NEXT year to pair with an aging Nowitski and not try to deal with the now and chase another ring. Yeaaah buddy! Good luck with that.
