Oden, really? You'd be better off grabbing Kwame Brown at least he'll play the whole season and some productivity beats none at all! Oden's skillset could be tremendous, but his body has betrayed him, not to be harsh, but it's a wrap!

They lose nothing by bidding up Oden. Sure the Blazers can match or exceed the offer. But it is a big risk for them. Because Oden doesn't want to stay up there. He wants a fresh start, in a new market, with a good point guard. He prefers to go home to Indiana, or join his best friend in Memphis (Mike Conley). Indiana could trade Roy Hibbert to get him. But Memphis won't part with Marc Gasol. Boston would be an ideal market, where Oden could start over anew on a known team with a lot of Championship "Cred". And big potential to win a title with the Big 4 (with him in it).

Oden is a free agent. Albeit restricted. There is huge risk for Portland keeping him, while discarding solid options to build their team with the expendable young players the Celts drafted last spring, along with 1-2 draft choices. And the "C's" would lose big if he truly is a fragile flower with injuries that won't heal. IMO it is a risk worth taking for both teams. Portland doesn't need him at Center. They have all of their other injured Centers back this year. They need a young, shooting, PG stud like the kid Bradley appears to be. Bradley could be better than Rondo Long term. And he plays PG more like Deron Williams. At any rate, I would part with him or Rondo to Portland to seal an Oden deal.

So pull your Boston hate mask off dude. Legendary NBA Sport Towns that are always in the Championship mix like Boston and LA know how to make deals like this happen and keep on going. There is no suicide watch in NE anytime soon. Tell me what city your teams are in and I'll know the rest of the story.

LMAO...Oden?

You guys all openly rooted for your team to tank games before the Draft when Oden came out in a lame attempt to get him then. You losers didn't get him then and you won't get him now (unless McHale is named the GM in Portland suddenly, that is).

You idiots had your center in Perkins and stupidly let him go. Face it, your team is slowly sinking into NBA irrelevance, hastened by the aging of your best players. It will be awhile until they are relevant again. Much like the Red Sox and shortly thereafter, the Pats.

Suicide watches in New England will be up in the next few years. LMAO

The Celtics would be nuts to trade Rondo for CP3. That is not what that team needs. It won't upgrade that team at all. Okay, CP3 is a better shooter. Rondo is a better defender. And both are equal at distributing the ball to the Celt's current personnel.

My humble advice to Ainge is re-sign Big Baby immediately. Lock up Jeff Green long term. And get what you really need in free agency. A Center. Greg Oden is a restricted free agent in Portland. Sign him! And give up high draft choices to Portland to keep him. When Oden is healthy, he's capable of playing Center at the very highest level. He is a prodigious shot blocker, rebounder and defender on the mold of Bill Russell. He has decent offensive skills. He is a good free throw shooter. He would be the perfect starter in that Boston lineup with Rondo. WIth Jermaine O'Neal coming off the bench. Their Bench would be awesome with O'Neal, Bradley, Green and Big Baby. If Oden escapes that obviously jinxed & bad building in Portland he will be fine in Beantown. just like Bill Walton was. That Portland arena has wrecked the legs of every great Portland player it had. And the knees and legs of all of its centers in its history! Something strange happens on that floor.

But you team up Rondo with Oden, Green, Big Baby and Bradley for the future, while riding out the string on KG, Allen and Pierce, you could have another monster team and championship or 2. Especially if Pierce can hang around as a pure gunner for 4-5 more years ala Ray Allen.

And I would say thank god...not only is Rondo a unique talent, not only does he still have big offensive upside, not only is he a really humble and good kid, but also remember that this is the type of player that will help draw offensive talents and scoring threats to the Celtics. What upcoming offensive star wouldn't want to team with a pass-first guy like Rondo? The Celtics clearly need a couple of years of transition, but they will reload, and when they do, Rondo will be an even bigger star.
