Clearly you’ve never tried to go to a game in Newark or East Rutherford.

I would rather have both, which is what this deal would give them considering Brook is making peanuts and the Nets are taking Hedo.

Sadly I can’t agree with that. If he were only for the money be would bought an NFL team. Basketball rarely generated substantial income for the owners( keyword substantial) and a business man owner of the Nets would be happy enough by moving the team to Brooklyn, since it’s been proved that a team in a big market generates money regardless of how bad they are (who said Knicks?). He is looking around for possible deals to make the team better. I like his he is willing to remove Brooklyn Lopez off the untouchable zone. Even If this deal doesn’t gets done I feel this team is going to do better with an owner with such perspective.

Comrade Ownervich?

Comrade Ownervich is not dumb. Neither is Otis Smith. I doubt he gets an offer similar to what the Nets can throw at him. Brook Lopez, picks, and the opportunity to be free of Hedo Turkoglu is fairly substantial.

Or he can take his chances on Andrew Bynum, who has one full season to his credit. He’s 24 with a 40 year old knee.

Does it really matter? Comrade Ownervich has pretty much shown he’s only in this for the substantial business opportunities surrounding the new arena in Brooklyn, not really fielding a championship caliber team. No superstar is heading there, much less D12. An offer of Lopez and Draft Picks? Even Otis Smith ain’t that stupid. If the conversation doesn’t start with Deron Williams, Brooklyn ain’t happening. Smith’d be better off taking the cap space and draft picks by letting him go next summer in a S&T.
