You might be forgetting that Nene played for years under the shade of Melo. Is hard to become an elite player when there is already one like that pulling attention and a team shaping itself around him.

I know it’s a long-shot but if the Clippers let Jordan go, i’d love to see him in a Cavs jersey. Add another swingman to that line-up and you’ve got a young team on the rise (assuming Thompson is what the Cavs think he is).

Nene’s “missed almost 2 out of 3 full seasons” occurred FOUR YEARS AGO. In the three seasons since then, he’s missed 12 games total while putting up very consistent career-highs in everything with great defense and 60% shooting.

While NENE ended up a being a much better pick than Skita; I think he’s largely been a disappointment. Dude can never seem to get over the hump and become an ‘elite’ player. While he’s been relativity healthy the last 3 years, he definitely has an ‘injury history’. There was a 4 year stretch where he only played in like 130 games. I really hope the Nuggets don’t over pay and resign him.
