while I agree with the sentiment that it can’t be blamed on Kobe or Kupchak, it isn’t quite that simple. Everyone had a hand in it. Buss, Kobe, Shaq, Kupchak, PJ. Shaq had more of a hand in it than people are willing to admit though. Like Kurt said, he created a very easy environment for us to rid ourselves of him with antics such as yelling at Buss.

Yes. This is right on the money. All the revisionist historians want to blame this on Kobe or Kupchak or whoever, when the reality was simply that the whole thing boiled down to business.

I thought the point of that was that Kupchack promised him a new contract then he didn’t get one? And also that Kupchack didn’t tell Shaq to his face (with Shaq even saying that ultimately it was Jerry Buss’ decision)? Don’t really think Shaq is in the wrong to be fair, seen as his trust with Kupchack was broken.

I know Shaq has a good reputation in the general public, but he always struck me as something of a petty ass clown.
