Yeah well, Macd’s don’t share with Jack nor Wendy. I heard somewhere there are leagues worldwide for whom the players may join any of them if they so desire…..What the owners see is that the “NBA” has never been so popular as now, and they are still seeing 40% of teams losing money year end year out, not good-not good at al ~ The players should hqave taken 50’59 while they had the chance, very poor leadership on the Players side~

Boy your right that league would be great. even though there would be no where for them to play and no NBAPA to control how much the players make. Running a league is not easy, the players would then be the ones cutting the checks not cashing them and I doubt they like that for very long.

The players have already given up a substantial percentage of income, if the owners can’t make due with 48% of BRI (after their bit off the top before the BRI number) they need to get out of the basketball business.

An NBA player is not a barista at Starbucks. D-Wade is not a replaceable cog in the machine. The NBA is not the NFL, players drive ratings and attendance, not just the game its self. If the best players in the NBA left and formed their own league, you know you’d watch that league instead of the NBA. The owners are stubborn, intractable fools, and are hurting their sport.

The NBA is “viable” now. Revenues have continued to rise and did again last year.

But if you buy the small-market owners line, the answer is called “revenue sharing”– an owner issue, which they don’t care enough about to solve rigt now, because their #1 priority is taking money from the players, not improving the league.

Right now things do look dreary. Eli is here, not coming. It will take some effort to get the owners off their position and the player’s union off theirs. The small market owners have a point and cannot continue to lose money each month and stay in business. Somehow something must change for them to keep the NBA viable. The players have a point and do not want to be abused. Who is getting hosed? The fans.
