When teams in other years have to play a full schedule, and Duncan/this year’s winner only play half a season, they need to be identified as “different”. If you wish to say they don’t count as much, that’s your privilege, I never said a word to that effect.

Screw that. As long as they have a season long enough to determine a good playoff seeding, the winner of this years championship counts just as much as any other.

Obviously. And both sides knew that was a possibility when they were dragging their asses and not getting a deal done.
More games in less time will give us a season of tired players, sloppy play, increased chances of injury…Stretching out the season (assuming arenas can be arranged) just cuts into next off-season, and the Olympics are doing that already.
Both sides screwed each other and themselves this season, they don’t deserve a full payday. I would see an overpacked schedule as a sign they don’t give a crap about the quality of the product.

One reason teams would rather have the maximum amount of games even in a shorter season is to recoup some of the lost revenue from a shortened season.

goforthe, yes agree , they need to STOP all the jerkin off and either shit or get off the pot ,,, both sides especially the owners , dont want to lose the entire season and they know there will be a deal ,, SO the owners need to cutt out the B.S. and either get on with the season OR just not have a season either way , the fans are tired of it ,, as it is they r loosing fans for good , some fans will NEVER come back ,, and the longer this thing goes on the more fans they will lose ,, already i was reading were many season ticket holders said they will not go to games anymore and will not buy anything NBA logo in it !!! and i belive it . all that money and its STILL not enough for them,,, its STUPID !!!! there process has twisted MANY fans out there and if they dont get it together real soon they are going to do a real number on the nba from here on OUT !!! i like your post and agree 100% , its a big joke !!! ^5

They should just pick up the schedule as is, whenever they decide to quit jerking off. No longer season, no cramming more games into a short season. As long as there’s enough divisional games to figure out who deserves a playoff spot, that’s enough; the season is already a joke, the eventual champ is going to have a lovely * by their name, so no need to waste time polishing a turd.
