Shut it down! Kill the season. Arrogant, self-entitled, over-paid players should not be rewarded. A hard salary cap should be instituted and less than 50/50 split. Let the owners make money. They are the ones with money at risk.

You couldn’t be more right. Very rarely is more “new” progress made during these negotiations. It’s more like a game of media chicken. Eventually one side will cave. In turn the winning side will give a few meaningless “wins” to the losing side so they can both save face.

Of course it is about money. If recent pro unions and owners settlements are any indication, the final agreement will resemble nearly the first proposal, which through weeks of posturing, and millions of dollars for lawyers and tens of millions in lost revenue and wages, the two parties will finally agree to, trying to convince everyone of the hard work and hard fought concessions each has gained. Oh, well, get back to the games!
