President Obama “a little heartbroken” over NBA lockout

President Barack Obama has problems, ones that dwarf yours and mine. In the best of times the president has life-or-death issues to deal with daily, and these are not the best of times.

Like you and me, he needs an occasional escape rom those problems. Like you and me, the NBA and basketball can provide that.

Except not now, not with the NBA locked out and the first two weeks of the season already thrown in the trashcan. That is not sitting well with the president, according to The Hill (via Trey Kirby’s twitter account).

President Obama said Tuesday that he’s “a little heartbroken that the NBA season is getting delayed” at a fundraiser in Orlando with Magic star Dwight Howard….

Obama said he had discussed the situation backstage with Howard, and hopes to see players back on the court “soon.”

Before you suggest the president should step in to help end the lockout (or send in a negotiator to help out) go back up to the first paragraph — he’s got real problems to do with. With troops in the Middle East, a struggling economy, health care and education issues in this nation (to name just a few things), I’d rather have the president focus his energies on solving real problems. Not millionaires and billionaires who can’t figure out how to divide up $4 billion a year.

But you have to wonder if Obama looked up at Howard and said, “Dude, just figure it out already, this is stupid. And stop tweeting “let us play” would you guys, it’s makes you sound like whiners.”

How ironic. I only say that because I’m a little heartbroken too. Heartbroken over a $14+ trillion debt. Heartbroken over high unemployment. Heartbroken over rising taxes. The list is endless. Boy, can I relate to that guy.

This should give Barry O more time to work on another stimulus plan. On second though, please settle this lock out now!

I’m glad to hear Obama took the time from drinking beer while his jobs bill was failing to express his outrage over the NBA lockout. If only he was that heartbroken over the economy and our overseas involvement.

so when the Pres introduces a jobs bill and it gets voted down by the Senate……it’s because he doesn’t care about the unemployed.

The people you should be heartbroken over are the ones who’ve been out of WORK for a year, not man–children who aren’t able to play a GAME.

Obama should be worrying about the country and not basketball. With all the things going wrong how could he even comment about this? I mean someone who has made it as the President of the US obviously cannot mulitask a thought process to comment on a national sports story and still think about what

(Damn Cell Phone) is really important.

What an idiot. Obama’s butt is chafed because the NBA’s greedy owners and the over paid prima donna players cant agree on splitting the wealth. Boo hoo. Hey Obama, why don’t you spend more time on your job and less watching basketball.

Well he just has more time for golf now!

Obama is human and likes sports just like you and me. Obama is trying his best but just like sports in his position he and the senate has to work has a team don’t blame Obama blame the whole team. #teamreality

O.B., why not resign and go trash talk with your ‘buddies’? You can’t get anything done at work anyway, since you have bigger priorities than what you were elected to do. You TALK TALK TALK,
but you can’t perform. Between you and your ol’ lady, she can do her ‘flap jacks’ and you can ‘bounce ‘da ball’. We never did need your ‘promises’, but I guess there are enough illiterates who voted you in. Man, they must be proud; I sure the hell ain’t proud of you misrepresenting your duties. Dumb Joe could even do a better job than you, and that wouldn’t take much.

Go tweet and face and trash talk; you proved you at least can do that!

It truly amazes me how stupid the american public really is. To blame our economic situation on our current administration, after 8 years of george w bush. People really act as if the current debt doesnt jibe with his crazy war. which not to mention was not needed period. The man should be facing a firing squad. Its funny to me that people are complaining Obama is not doing enough, problem is that nobody spoke up when bush was sending our sons & daughters to their death, for no reason.

Ask Howard how he feels about getting his taxes raised.

    • philtration - Oct 12, 2011 at 8:47 PM

I will do even better…. why do YOU worry about Howard’s taxes?

  12. suhnum1fan - Oct 13, 2011 at 11:22 AM

FYI, Trillion dollar debt, high unemployment and rising taxes was here before Obama got in office, just saying.

“Lil” Bush celebrated the recent Dallas championship. Obama’s teams, Chicago and Washington, haven’t won anything. Obama is probably on the owner’s side, just like Bush. Same difference.
