Teams tend to lose interest in players who stick around for over 2 years, seemingly because people fall in love with “potential” vs. the actual finished product. Plus I feel like this guy isn’t as good as advertised , and may actually be a bust.

He was supposed to be a top-5 pick this year but couldn’t lead Baylor–who didn’t even make the tourney after being ranked 9th six games into the season–in scoring, rebounding, or blocked shots. Worse than that, Jones’ high school and college teams both underperformed expectations (again, were ranked 9th early in the year), which can’t lead NBA fans to think he’ll actually improve a pro team.
