WORST owner in the NBA hands down!!! and this is coming from a lifelong fan, season ticket holder, and former Suns employee! “in spite” is the correct term. The Suns have managed to contend the last 7-8 years “in spite” of Robert Saver (no misprint) He is barely the majority owner and he has 15-20 other minority owners who stroked their own checks and laid their own cash in for his $401 million purchase from Jerry Colangelo in 2004. Believe me not a day goes by that Phoenix Suns fans here in the Valley don’t yearn for the days when The Godfather Colangelo ran this organization. Back then this place was a Top 5 free-agent destination.. Now……., you couldn’t pay players enough (Joe Johnson, Amar’e) to want to even consider staying her and playing for an owner like him!

Everyone needs to get over the Rondo thing he wouldn’t have worked in the system the year he was drafted or for the next 3. He only looks good in boston because he is surrounded by hall of fame talent in a system that stresses defense and half court execution none of which the suns do or have ever done. Yeah we could have maybe picked someone else available or a euro and stashed him overseas for a while. Yeah telling Joe Johnson he wasn’t worth and 11 million dollar extension or trying to replace STAT with warrik turk and childress didnt work out at all. the only plus from letting amare go is that we got the polish hammer in the orlando trade. Ever since sarver has taken over the team the have been winning despite his efforts and free agents no longer view phoenix as a good destination unless you suck and are looking for an extra 5 mil a year that you will never earn,” Josh Childress” I’ve never seen a guy make so much money in other endeavors and investments and piss so much money away on useless pieces

You’re too nice to him, Matt. I know if I were a suns fan, I’d tell you he doesn’t get nearly enough grief.

Let’s be real here – If Sarver hadn’t sold off Joe Johnson and Rondo for peanuts, the Suns would have at least one NBA title by now, most likely in 2007 when they were an Amare Stoudemire suspension away from beating San Antonio.

There is no way they don’t win if they had a quality back up for Nash and had that third all star (johnson) in the starting lineup.

The Suns have made the playoffs in spite of Sarver. They could have had Rajon Rondo as the successor to Nash. Instead they got pocket change. They could have had Luol Deng, Nate Robinson. Pocket change. They let Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudemire go for nothing. This team could seriously be the most talented in the NBA if they didn’t let all their players go like they’re the Clippers or something.
