I played the game, everybody on there pump fakes like Kobe, Rondo and the Dream, unrealistic…but i loved the game i just think ….wait i just know there’s no way everybody kobe post moves like the dream and kobe….and Melo is very over rated but he’s still top3 best offensive players in the league…Kobe is number #1, Wade/Durant might be number #2…

Big men meaning 7-footers. If we use the broader meaning it would actually include guys like Odom and Durant since they’re still technically “big men” due to their height.

I don’t know what you’re talking about there. Of course Dirk’s “slow” in a sense, but considering that he’s a 7-footer, that’s a given. Yet he’s faster than any other 7-footer out there. He drives to the hoop like he’s a SF. He’s a 7-footer that’s usually finishing up fastbreaks.

Passing is really mediocre? How can you explain then the fact that him and Pau are the only big men that average more than 2.5 APG?

His on ball defense did improve, and it is good, but “pretty high up there”? Are you sure you’re talking about Dirk?

That’s never really forgotten. What’s really unforgivable is that, like the other comments have already mentioned, a similarly offensive-minded player like ‘Melo is higher than him. And it’s not like ‘Melo is a significantly better defender and rebounder.

Another one would be another player of the Knicks: Stoudemire. He’s the most overrated big man right now. Doesn’t usually use his size and strength to his advantage. He averaged almost the same RPG (8.2) as Chris Bosh (8.3), who’s a supposed “soft player” FFS.

I hope everyone is aware that the overall score is a scaled system.

For example – if he is average on defense, and elite on offense – he’ll be low 90′s high 80′s. They may have a few of his defensive stats lower than they should be because in the aspect of the game I’d say he could easily be a 90-91.

Since he’s slow, his speed probably brought his overall down quite a bit too. I can guarantee you his Shot’s are all in the upper 90′s. As well as his ball handling. I’m sure his passing is really mediocre, and his blocking as well. His rebounds will be pretty high up there, and his on ball defense will as well.

I just think you guys are overlooking the way that they scale it. He’ll still be an offensive mastermind.

And trust me when I say, even though it’s scaled I have no idea how Carmelo is so high. Probably some developer that’s a Knicks fan that didn’t watch anything but the 20+ games he played in a NY Jersey.

Dirk has ratings of 99 in close and mid shooting. As long as he plays like the real thing, I don’t care what his overall is.

The Online roster update feature usually balances this sort of thing out. If we have a preseason, he should be calibrated by the time it’s over.

My guess is that Dirk loses points because, as incredibly awesome as he is at offense (maybe the best scorer in the league), he’s pretty mediocre on defense.

With that being said…. How the hell is Carmelo Anthony ranked higher than him? That’s a guy who is just as bad defensively at his position, and he’s less efficient on offense too. Out of all the guys listed here, Carmelo seems like the most over-ranked player (that goes hand in hand with out how he’s overrated in the real NBA I guess).

Pau Gasol ahead of Dirk? No. Just no.

It also seems like a bit of a joke that Derrick Rose is rated just as highly as Kevin Durant (no matter how much you like Rose, you’re lying to yourself if you think he’s as good as KD).

Kobe Bryant is ranked ahead of Dwight at this point? Ugh.

Whatever. It’s just a video game.
