Dwyane Wade says Heat will see less hate next season

Is last season’s white-hot hate for all things Miami going to cool down to just red-hot?

I see the comments on this site and in my twitter timeline when I dare suggest that he hatred for all things Miami will cool with time, especially if they win a title or two — you don’t believe it. Plenty of you plan on really hating the Heat until Miami sinks back into the Atlantic.

But Dwyane Wade thinks the hatred for the Heat will cool off as well, as he told the USA Today. (hat tip to I am a GM)

“It’s always going to be criticism. There’s always going to be hatred. … It’s like the first time LeBron went to Cleveland, it was this crazed thing,” Wade says. “Then we went back again, and it wasn’t the same.

“No matter what people say about the Miami Heat, it will not be the same as it was last year. There’s still going to be stuff out there, but not like the first time.”

Okay haters, have at it. The fine folks of Cleveland will never forgive, I get that. But for the nation as a whole, the Heat hate will cool down, and if they win some rings the pendulum of public opinion will start to swing the other way some. Just watch.

The bigger concern for the league — that hatred for the Heat will cool into apathy after an extended lockout. For many fans, that will be the reality.

Only if the whiners learn to shut their ignorance holes.

As long as Wade’s and Jame’s attitudes stay the same, the hatred will continue. As long as they keep making rediculous and offensive statements, the hatred will continue. As long as they keep whining for a foul after every shot attempt, the hatred will continue. As long as they keep saying they don’t care what the fans think about them, the hatred will continue. As long as there is a lockout the hatred will be directed toward the entire NBA and the Heat will be held up as justification for this widespread hatred. And, if they ever win a title, I will quit watching the NBA entirely.

So, in summary, as long as they do anything ever, YOUR hatred for them will continue. Fair enough.

No, as long as THEY don’t change the hatred will continue. If you are waiting for the fans to except them as they are, it won’t happen. We are not going to start to like them because we have excpeted their lack of character.

I will always hate. You can’t undo “the decision” or that $hit show with all 3 on stage on their jersey you can’t undo he Heatles or the cocky fake chest punching like in the game against Dallas when they thought they had he game in hand. The arrogance and basketball god attitude is why I will always cheer against them and will consider the season a success as long as they dont win the NBA championship even if it means my Jazz don’t win.

Unless D-Wade can put a muzzle on that choke artist of a teammate and backhand that little piece of crap Chalmers (Who seems to have went from being escorted to the ESPY’s by his daddy to mouthing off and taunting after every play) then THE HATE WILL CONTINUE!

    Especially from me…

Is that why your fans were selling tickets for the Finals game to Mavs fans? And is that why your owners sent out the “FAN UP” memo about how to be a good fan? The Miami fan base overall is a joke, nothing but front runners.

You have to admit that Wade and James are very naive to think that the way they acted before the season with the “Decision” and the big show they put on in Miami to announce the signings would cause people to love them….jeeze what an egotistical idiot

The Heat need to stop caring so much what people think about them. That will probably be the best way to improve the overall image of them. They must not have heard in elementary school that if you ignore them long enough they’ll just go away.

As a cle fan I will always hate the heat as long as lebron is there .. However if they win it they’ll hav to earn it so so be it. Time to move on

I disagree with Wade I think it will be similar. When they lose the media will call the team a complete failure, when they win it will be quiet. They will still get booed everywhere they go, especially in Ohio.

I hope the heat hate continues.
