"That is what the owners will have to do to bring even just a LITTLE bit of sanity." A little bit of sanity to the owners themselves? The owners are the ones making questionable Max Contract deals, the owners are the ones not valuing the scouts who find good players, the owners are the ones not treating this like a real business and hiring their kids to 6 figure salaries for no work.

The owners who are championing free market rights are the same socialists saying that there has to be an even playing field, that they should make money no matter how bad they run their business. The Celtics, Lakers, Spurs and Mavericks all care about winning. Winning makes those franchises profitable. Winning means extra home games in the playoffs which leads to more revenue. if your home team stinks and is unprofitable its because your owner is a bad business person. My Lakers nor the Players at large should not have to save other owners from Michael Reid or Joe Johnson type mistakes.

If you work for a living, your boss is probably hinting that you should not ask for a raise this year. There is always money for people who have the right skills, I ask for my money yearly and don't offer to give it back. I make no apologies on that, and don't feel that the Players should either. fouldwimmerlaik, do you think that the owners will charge less next season if they get a complete win over the Players? Probably not.
