Ok dallas spent that much money & at the end of the day, still only have one star thats my point, lakers,spurs,heats all have 3 all stars…….but tell me david would you take jason terry, jason kidd & J.J over Parker, Manu & former spurs Hill!!!

Got my numbers wrong. Dallas spent about $20 million more than Miami did this year, not $40 million. But still, you get the point. Cuban makes it rain to win.

Don’t try and act like Dallas is a team made of scrubs, ed. They just won the friggen championship. Their players are excellent, and a major reason why their roster is so good is because Mark Cuban is willing to spend more money than almost anyone else to keep his team a contender year in and year out.

It’s well documented how Cuban spends the full MLE every year, trades away draft picks and then buys his way back into the fist round, and does under the table deals to get the players he wants (like the deals that landed peja and Kidd).

Bottom line – Dallas spent almost $40 million dollars more than the Heat did, and it took them no patience to get to where they got now. If you want to demonize the Heat, you have to demonize Dallas and the Lakers too.

Let me see if I’m understanding you correctly –

Dallas and the Lakers were both in the top 5 in average payroll in the entire NBA over the last decade.

In 2010-2011, Dallas had the third highest payroll ($87 million) and the Lakers had the #1 payroll ($91 million).

The Heat, meanwhile, were a middle of the road team in salary ( #20 with only $65 million). And, to get their players, they had to spend three whole seasons patiently clearly cap space (sacrificing three years of Dwyane Wade’s career).

And you accuse the Heat of the ones who bought their wins?

Ridiculous.

You cant tank to get the player you want in the NBA draft, just ask the owner that was crying foul over cavs getting the first pick, now as for the NFL you will see a tank season from a bunch of teams trying to get Luck!!!

Much respect to you (kurt) but spurs built there rings thru draft & cast away, lakers traded to get there ring not talkin about old school lakers but there recently teams that had kobe,shaq,gasol,M.W.P,lamar where all traded 4 & added one the top 5 coach“s of all time. As 4 the heats wont even matter if they win it all soon u buy a all star team your suppose to, its expect, now much as I hate Dallas, I respect them lil more because they won with a Star & a bunch of six man!!!

How about the Spurs’ combination of hurt players and serious tanking (the amount of minutes they played certain guys down the stretch in ’97 was criminal) to land Tim Duncan?
