Or perhaps Moore is implying that Bryant should kick back some of his salary to the NBAPA. If this actually happens (doubtful) and Bryant does give some of his money to the NBAPA, I am sure Moore will be front-and-center praising Bryant for it.

I admire Moore’s populist instincts, but as is generally the case when he makes the mistake of writing about Kobe Bryant, there are some logical failings–and that is assuming the story is evern accurate.

Moore seems to assume that Besiktas would give the 450K/month to marginal guys if Bryant doesn’t take it. Seems unlikely And this is the first time that I have heard, in all the Europe rumors, of this type of selfishness on the part of a player being an implied motive. Coincidence, I am sure.

Finally, the biggest star on one of the league’s strongest brands leaving to go to Europe would, one would think, perhaps put a little pressure on the owners. I doubt they are particularly worried about Sonny Weems and Sasha Vujacic heading overseas. Kobe Bryant going might give them a bit of pause.

Sure he was….who started this rumor, his agent? the players union? LOL at sending the crap out to the media. Fix the salary cap structure and the NBA, don’t give in owners. The competitive balance is way out of wack and needs to be fixed.
