I like Brian Shaw. A team player with a sharp basketball mind. He will catch on someplace and eventually get a head coaching job.

I’m not a big Jim Buss fan. Bynum is a very good player, but Jim’s acted like he’s the next Wilt. Bynum shouldn’t be considered untouchable like Jim Buss does. He’s trying too hard to leave his mark on the Lakers and be known. Look at the most successful owners in the NBA- guys like his dad, Peter Holt, the Grousbecks… they do not interfere, they take a back seat and let the basketball people do their jobs. Granted, there are visible owners that have success like Mark Cuban, but Cuban just won his first championship and he’s owned them for over 10 years…

I’m sorry, but as a Laker’s fan, Shaw was not entitled to the job. He felt he was, but he was not a lock. He thought he automatically deserved the job, again he did not. Being a Laker’s head coach is not an entitlement to anyone.

Wow. So that’s how it went down, huh. I didn’t want Shaw to get the gig only because I feel if it wasn’t Phil running the triangle, then they shouldn’t run it at all because it was apparent during last season, especially during the playoffs, that they needed to switch it up and do something else to peak their interest and renew them, but that is just straight shitty. Matt is right on, Jim Buss does make me nervous, what with the way he’s been handling things. Plus the Buss’ are a close family, how hard would it be for Jerry to fire his son for not handling the family buisness correctly? He’s who us Laker faithful are going to have to learn to live with for a long, long, loooooong time. Hopefully for the best.

the lakers needed a proven vet coach, not some guy who just screams and poses as a “defensive guru”, go back to the 1980s uniforms, bring back the lake show fastbreak offense, and develop a young pg to be the pg of the future.
