Spot on; this was my first thought. Kobe’s “free safety” defensive tactics do more harm than good. And yet he makes the All-D team!

Mike Brown is overrated as a defensive coach! The guy couldn’t figure out the pick n roll after 5 games against the Magic in 2009 playoffs when the Cavs and Lefraud got bounced.
And Kobe, if you’re reading this, the new offense consist of you pounding the ball for 20 of 24 seconds of the play clock and then passing only after you find out that you have been triple teamed.
How Mike Brown got another job as a head coach, I will never know.

the lakers D was strong last season, so it makes sesnse that they wouldn’t change the overall scheme. Person’s comments about execution and accountability interest me in that I would like to see how this affects Kobe’s current self-imposed role as a gambling center-fielder instead of sticking more to his man
