Like MLB, players and their agents want to team up with the sponsors (like Nike) and the networks (ESPN/ABC, TNT) to get run the sport.

Whether 22 of 30 teams are losing money is irrelevant. 22 ownership groups want to know why they cannot keep star players that they draft or trade for, and cannot attract star free agents. 22 market fans want to know why if they&#039;re loyal to a young star player he&#039;s going to &quot;do what is best for my family&quot; and go take the same or less money elsewhere.

Quick - when is the last time a star free agent went (or demanded a trade) to Portland, Utah, Denver, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Sacramento, Cleveland, Detroit, Memphis....and on, and on.......

This lockout goes to at least the beginning of the 2012-13 season.]]></description>
