Gilbert Arenas makes the lockout simple for everyone

Washington Wizards v Sacramento Kings

In case you are not sure exactly why the NBA is locking out, you should read our Q&A explanation… which is the best we can do.

Gilbert Arenas probably did it better on twitter (@agentzeroshow).

SBN collected his 140 characters into paragraphs for us, and he gets it (from a players perspective).

For the people who don’t know why they’re lockin out… I’ll explain it in real people terms. Lakers, Dallas, Miami, Knicks, Magic, Bulls, Boston, and a few others always have the best chance at the top free agents due to city and money. So the smaller cities team can’t compete. So they can never get better and they’re always losing money. So since they cant control each other spending money on players, they want us to do it for them by signing a new deal. It’s that simple.

There’s a lot more. Go read it.

Mark Cuban would disagree on twitter, but David Stern would fine him.

You mean the NBA is trying to script where players go to make sure the league goes on? I had no idea this could happen…. especially in a league where the officials clearly bet on games and control them night in and night out. Really, I had no idea!

There’s no parity in the NBA.

He didn’t say that at all. He said they are one of the teams that always have the best chance at the top free agents due to city and money. Learn to read.

Kurt, your articles are much better when you let the athletes write them

It really seems simple, but is it really? Is it really that simple? With our economy the way it is, and certain teams having a better market Gilbert’s tweet makes since, but wait.. Didn’t the Lakers win the 2010 Championship, but the city was too broke to afford the parade? The same Laker organization is now considering a trade to bring in a massive Dwight Howard!! I think it goes deeper than Certain teams having a better advantage because of where they’re located. I mean the last I checked winning is the same whether its in Milwaukee or LA. I think to a certain extent where the MONEY is going, and who is getting it, plays a very big part in this CBA and Lockout.

Gilbert Arenas is always my go-to guy for having complex things explained to me.
