Well, the pick is going to be Williams, who very well could be a legitimate star. Kahn obviously sees it that way since he’s demanding so much for the pick.

Dear David,

Here’s a thought: If you’re valuing the pick so highly because you know who everyone wants because he could be a star, why not just take the guy everyone wants yourself? You’re not getting Bynum, you’re not getting Nash. You can get Derrick Williams and look to move Beasley for something of an asset. How about moving Beasley for a veteran big man instead?

OH NO so the T Wolves arent going to BEND OVER for the Lakers — Darnit — Eff the Lakers. The Lakers might laugh it off and they should — Bynum is pretty darn good in the 31 games he averages a year — Most 23 year olds can run and jump without getting hurt every year. I dont see the love for Bynum that these BRILLIANT GMs see — If Im building a franchise it isnt around a 23 year old soft center.

Boo hoo. Kahn’s actually trying to get what the T-Wolves need, a quality center, and that’s why people are so upset because no one is willing to give one up.

I’d originally slammed him for the Bynum trade offer until I realized that the Lakers had attempted to trade Odom straight-up for the #2 overall pick. Odom’s not worth that, IMHO, especially to a team who has Love starting at the 4.

Frankly, Kahn should talk to the other high lottery teams about trading down and getting Kanter or Valaciuncas since no one is willing to give him the center the team needs or something of worth for Beasley so they can take Williams.

You can deal with Utah all you want because isn’t the general consensus that the draft has 2 potential difference makers. I would rather have a crowded front court than a below average center (we already have that) just so we can say we made a trade.
