Their per 36 numbers are virtually identical (Nelson gets 15.5 per game and Miller gets 14.0 but shoots at a slightly higher rate–likely due to lack of three point shots–and assists are a toss up with Nelson getting 7.1 and Miller at 7.7).

This feels a lot like what Cleveland did in the LeBron situation. They kept making moves to show LeBron they were committed, but the moves didn’t necessarily make them a whole lot better. Rather, they got themselves into a terrible cap situation and didn’t have much flexibility to make good moves.
