As for Miami’s ability to “dominate” going forward? The probability of a greatly reduced salary cap on the next CBA will thankfully prevent that. You see, the self-anointed “Big 3″ all have backend loaded contracts.

That means that with a substantially reduced salary cap, either one of them will need to go or the rest of the Heat roster will have to be filled out with scrubs, rooks, fugitives from the D-league and broken down veterans willing to play for the minimum in order to chase a ring.

Miami’s not the only team though that’s going to be adversely affected by the new CBA. At then end of next season, the Chicago Bulls will have to give D-Rose a max contract (which they of course will GLADLY do), and that will put them in the same predicament as the Heat (as Noah’s contract jumps to $12M, Deng is making $10M and Boozer is making $20M).

The buzz in Chicago is that unless Noah can develop an offensive game, he’ll be the odd man out with Omar stepping in as the man in the middle.

With respect to the Heat’s team chemistry, everyone knew that Le Bum and Wade basically both need the ball and play the same position, so why so much surprise that it hasn’t quite worked out as expected thusfar? No matter what happens down the road though, I just don’t see it affecting Bosh, as Bosh is the most grounded of the three and pretty much just keeps his mouth shut, goes with the flow and plays.

Owners conspiring to keep salaries down? Nothing wrong with that either. I KNOW that there are rules against it but in actuality there is nothing wrong with it – the rules are there to keep the public happy and for no other reason.

After signing the big 3 Riley had to go to the scrap heap for the rest of the roster and he did ok. Next year he’ll do better. I hate to say this but I think the Heat will dominate starting next year.

Somehow or other Riley has managed to live through my not liking him.

Honestly LeBron’s age matters less than the number of years he has been in the league. He got the same head start over players like Jordan that Kobe got, years in the league gives a better feel for where he is compared to other players.

By the end of his 8th year in the league Jordan had been to the finals twice just like LeBron. The difference is he won both his visits (and bagged some finals MVP trophies to boot). I don’t hate LeBron, maybe other people do. But it’s not hatred to point out the huge differences between Jordan who justifiably was an icon; and LeBron who wants to be one without bothering to perform well in the clutch.

Can he change? Absolutely! But he hasn’t shown the inclination to work on the weaker aspects of his game in 8 years. With his personal preoccupation with off-court business the safe bet is he’ll spend the summer more concerned with working on his Q rating than on post moves. That’s his right, but its basketball fans’ right to mock him for it too. His generation is the future of basketball, and he may be the most talented player in it. How much he achieves respective to his peers is a matter of more than talent though.

If you can find me proof that collusion happened, I’ll gladly admit that I’m wrong.

Until then, though, the only “proof” of collusion are just assumptions being made by people who are still butt-hurt that LeBron joined Miami.

My point remains – Collusion could not possibly have happened since LeBron would have definitely stayed with Cleveland had he won the NBA title in 2010. Nothing was decided until that summer.

Lebron isn’t selling himself as an Icon…he is AN ICON…I grew up during the Jordan era. Its just amazes me that people let the hate blur the reality…the reality is that at 26 hes been to the Finals twice. I also don’t honestly see them struggling through the regular season next year (or whenever we get to watch basketball again) the way they did this year either. The Heat really just peaked a round too early. They’re getting hammered for it (rightly so) because they were spouting hyperbole before the season started. However these guys aren’t stupid, they’re going to learn from their mistakes and come back hungrier. Well, Bosh and Wade will learn. LeBron might not have accepted what happened yet.

Also… LeBron was the one who wanted to be about more than just basketball. If he weren’t selling himself as an icon then he wouldn’t be on the receiving end of nearly as much crap. I’d happily watch LeBron the basketball player if he’d just shut his mouth and be LeBron the basketball player. If Cuban can shut up for the playoffs LeBron can keep his ego in check for a season.

Assuming the big three maintain good health, there is a very good chance that this will be the weakest Heat team we’ll see over the next couple years.

Also, disagree that Miami’s competition is getting stronger. The competition is actually getting weaker. Boston, Dallas, San Antonio, and the Lakers are all old and getting older.

Chicago and OKC are the only two contenders that you would think would improve as time goes on. The others will decline unless they make trades that change their fortunes.

You’re entitled to your opinion. But, as a Heat fan, I know that we had a great year.

NBA teams very rarely win in their first year together as a group. In year one, we were the second best team in the league. That’s something worth being proud of.

Only one team gets to lift up the trophy every year. Everybody else has to go back to the drawing board.

But my team still made it further than 28 out of 30 teams. It was a ton of fun to watch.

And yes, I do know LeBron would have resigned with Cleveland had he won the title in 2010. You seriously think LeBron would have won a title in Cleveland and then bolted to Miami in the same summer?

Credit to them because they reached the finals. But I just don’t get people saying there going to be ‘loaded’ next year from a personnel standpoint. As long as those guys continue to average 43+ plus minutes a game. They’re going to fade even more later down the road.

Haslem turned down more money from other teams and made $10+ mill less to stick with the heat. You can count him as the unique exception because no other decent free agent in his prime is going to turn down considerably more dollars to join the oh so special ‘big 3′ and get paid peanuts.

Hell, chalmers will probably get a better contract offer from another team when his contracts up and he’ll bolt. So they’ll lose a solid PG who can light it up from 3.

Bottom line its the big 3 and there bench depth will forever be the Juwon Howard, Eddie House and Erick Dampier type players.

No one has any idea if there was actual collusion involved with forming the big three. There is zero proof that anything illegal happened. None.

As a matter of fact, basic common sense would indicate to you that there WASN’T collusion involved since LeBron was actively trying to win the Cleveland Cavaliers a title in 2009 and 2010. If LeBron had managed to go all the way and win a championship during one of those two years, he would have definitely resigned with Cleveland, rendering any “collusion” moot.

Because he said the Heat actually had a great season since they finished as the second best team in the league? Because he said the Heat will remain contenders for the next 4 years? Because he said LeBron is untouchable despite his finals flameout?

Those are facts, not opinions buddy. If you disagree with them then it’s pretty obvious that you’re the biased one.
