Video: Chris Bosh drains game winner

Miami has gotten in trouble this series when they have gone to LeBron James or Dwyane Wade in isolation. When it became hero ball as they tried to knock down the long jumper or drove headlong into the teeth of the defense. And in the biggest moment of the series you wondered if they may revert to that habit.

No, they ran maybe their best play, and it worked just as designed. Watch it below (in slow motion thanks to the people at NBA.com). Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion both go with Wade off the pick so he swings it to the roll man, LeBron, who is at the free throw line. But Tyson Chandler makes the right read (you don’t want LeBron wide open for a game winner) so he pressures him. LeBron makes a clever pass to Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki is supposed to rotate out to him but Udonis Haslem slows Dirk with a little pin down screen and Bosh gets the open look. Ballgame.

It had been the first time all game the Heat had run the Wade/LeBron pick and roll. Wade came

Chris Bosh is the Ru Paul of big men.

he got my respect last night – it looked like he was playing with 1 eye… or cross-eyed the entire night…

good 4 him – he’s been getting ragged on the entire season, only the big 2?

well the 3rd of the 3 amigos stepped up last night – clutch!

I know, that eye looked nasty. Given the pressure, scrutiny he’s been under all season and only having one eye, he made a pretty big shot

That shot was huge. Its not like he was shooting well prior to that. Lebron and the rest of the team put a lot of faith in Bosh that play.

Did anyone see the post game interview with Hannah Storm? Bosh’s eye was tearing up and still bothering him.

Kudos for hitting a big shot despite the obvious pain/discomfort/possible loss of depth perception.

I’ve watched about 90 Heat games this year and let me say that Bosh has been big. He is the best jump shooter on the team and whenever he has a bad defender he becomes very aggressive and takes his man to the hole.

Having said that…. Bosh is overpaid. He’s getting paid the SAME MONEY as LeBron James which is absurd enough but he’s being paid MORE MONEY than Dwyane Wade.

Bosh is a true allstar just as wade & lebron are not overpaid at all, theres guys in the nba that make as much or more then bosh

    • southbeachtalent - Jun 6, 2011 at 12:25 PM

In case you haven’t noticed, these guys didn’t come together to be the highest paid. Dwayne could have gotten max, same goes for LeBron but they passed on that.

considering Bosh would have gotten max money if he signed somewhere else, technically he’s underpaid
