Pros (for triangle):
Always two steps ahead of the competition mentally. He thinks and plays so fast he’d be able to catch the roadrunner in the first episode. He’ll be just fine dishing the rock to the open threats the wolves possess on the fly. I know you can’t debate that one so we’ll move along.

His size suggest he’ll be able to move off the ball just fine. In fact, when watching his games against Team USA I’d be as bold to suggest this is one of his strengths. The difference being he’ll continue to look to dish rather than look for the open shot. Some would say this is bad, but in the triangle this is actually a good thing when you have an open K-Love behind the arc and an open B-EZ around the key. If Wes Johnson develops any kind of shot at all, look out! Dangerous.

Cons:
He can’t seem to shoot, granted, that’s Europe, but still, his jumper is as bad as Flynn’s. The reason why this is a borderline Pro rather than Con is because Rubio is unselfish! He will use this to his advantage and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a solid jumper out of Rubio by the time he hits 24 years of age.

His post game is bad for the triangle. However, if Rambis uses him correctly, he will modify the system to take advantage of Rubio’s vision at the top of the key and on the wings. for some reason I visualize more pick n roll with Rubio than seeing him in the post. Even K-Love recognizes this so I’m sure Rambis does.

Passing off the dribble OR off the catch is actually perfect in the triangle if you think of any other position than Point. In fact, if you can visualize the triangle as an offense that doesn’t really need a true point, then it’s almost perfectly suited for a guy who thinks as fast as rubio does. He doesn’t have to play the role of a true point, yet, with the ball in his hands for at least 2 seconds out of a 6 to 10 second attack, you can realistically see him racking up more than 12 assists a game as long as he finds the open man on the first attempt.

There is a chance of a flop, of course, However, considering Rubio’s fast play, I visualize a guy who dishes better than Fisher ever has and takes less shots than Fisher ever has. Care to explain how that’s a bad thing within the triangle considering Rubio’s fast play?

Basically the whole thing is kicked off by the guard kicking to a wing. In the T-wolves offense the said guard can be Rubio (it was Ridnour a lot of the time last season). From there it’s fast paced looking for the open look. Rubio doesn’t need the ball in his hands very long. In fact, he just needs to kick it to the right guy.

Judging from his play, he will be just fine. He plays two steps ahead of everyone else making him perfect for the triangle offense. Rubio doesn’t want the ball in his hands very long. he wants to find the open man then get back on D.

Ricky Rubio is going to make this offense much more efficient and dangerous! His playmaking ability is amazing and perfectly suited for the triangle! He plays fast, he will find the open man and the Wolves have plenty of guys who can score, especially when somebody finds them the way Rubio will. Ricky Rubio comparisons to former players need to stop. He is who he is and he’s perfect to find the offensive threats the Wolves have. He’s unselfish, he plays defense… what more can you ask?

Anybody who wants to say Rubio won’t fit the Triangle is insulting Rubio’s intelligence and skills.
