Ron Artest breaks up drunken fight on Hollywood street

Ron Artest

Ron Artest is really trying to live up to that citizenship award he got.

Artest was leaving a Hollywood club last weekend when he came upon a man and a woman about to get into a fight, according to TMZ.com.

So Artest stepped in and broke it up. Because 6’7” 265 pound guys with minimal body fat can do that more easily than the rest of us. He did it without clotheslining anyone. TMZ has the video and spoke to everyone involved.

TMZ spoke with Artest who told us, “Unfortunately there was a situation at the club and some people had too much to drink, and got unruly and aggressive. I tried to diffuse the situation. Some people just don’t think clearly when they’ve had too much to drink — it’s an unfortunate reality. “

Somewhere in Indiana and Detroit they are calling this ironic, but the Lakers forward was sober and did the right thing. So good on him. Most people would have walked on by, he did something about it.

I’m worried that Ron Artest will ask for a month off next season to work on his new “Being a superhero” project

I’m worried that every NBA player is going to have a few months off next season. :(

At least he is showing with his actions you can grow and learn and be mature.

I don’t know how much TMZ paid for that cell phone video of Artest breaking up that fight; but it was lame.

I can’t believe Artest has actually become a good guy. He got guts too. Could’ve easily been stabbed or shot trying to break up the fight.

It’s time to get rid of Artest, he’s no good. Nobody wants the nice guy Artest!

I want the street thrug/pitbull artest that you never knew when he was gonna break his chain and go nuts on somebody. If Artest has truly lost that edge, he’s no good to nobody.

Maybe if he could’ve punched Barea like a man they’d still be playing right now.

Go back to drinking in the lockerroom at halftime before it’s too late Ron Ron, nice guys finish last. Crazy ass pitbulls like Dennis Rodman make the hall of fame!

If Shannon Brown and Pau Gasol worked for IBM, one of them would have to go. Guess which one it would be >> http://clicky.me/5KzO

Time can change things. I’m glad he’s made this change and is more calm and rational these days. Good stuff.

Well, I’m glad it’s not just me that happens to every time I walk from doorstep to curb.

Everybody used to be young. Ron has proven that he is a big boy now.

What was really funny is that the couple was Donald Trump and Sarah Palin!
