knicksnyny100 wonders "...how does the locker room run...??"

Well, the locker room would probably run something like the boys locker/shower area did in Junior High/High School. At any large school, you can be sure that there were probably a few gay and bi-sexual guys in every class. Think about it - they had to have been there, based on statistics, probabilities, etc. You may not have known exactly who they were in most cases (and even some of the gay guys themselves may not have known for certain ...at least not yet). If you didn't notice, then apparently they remained under control, despite the stimulus.

If some of them were attracted to guys in the shower, I don't recall seeing many clear signs of it (i.e. erections). Actually, the most homo-erotic looking activity was among some of the most macho, football player jock types who would often engage in what teachers/parents might call rough but innocent "horse-play"/wrestling among hyperactive boys (...except for the part about being completely naked while playing?).

Yeah, hopefully (unknown named future gay player) can take a page from the John Amaechi playbook and abstain from forcibly sodomizing his teammates, whether it be pre-game, post-game, or perhaps in the buffet line on the team's charter flight. Hopefully they'll work something out. Geez..

i doubt it would come and go quickly. some player would say something offensive to him and it would get caught on camera. or some player would get too physical with him and itd be seen as a hate crime. then the media would go crazy with "anti gay" stories.

even if 90% of the nba doesnt mind a gay player, that remaining 10%
is all it takes to ruin the "acceptance."

What a horrendous analogy to the OJ trial... please leave that alone.

Nash is saying his perspective from a liberal white guy...he does not represent the general consensus of the league...

majority of league is black & come from different cultural backgrounds, some where gays are not accepted or looked down upon

Most NBA players come from an urban upbringing. And the urban culture especially in relation to basketball does not have a lot of MINDFULNESS for gays...

Yeah I do NOT agree with the culture. BUT LETS BE REAL HERE...

Street n****s are not going to wanna play with a gay guy or be in the locker room with them, & after games most guys wanna go out and h/u with girls - it would be a different feel for a lot of NBA players...

but to say it would come and go quickly...I think Nash is wrong. Big deal - NO. A lil different for the players in the lockeroom - YES. They drop the OTHER F-Bomb a lot, thats gay, they would have to censor themselves a lil...NBA players hate to censor anything!

While I think its IGNORANT & DO NOT AGREE with some of these perspective mindsets I have talked about, lets not ignore the elephant in the room, & say we all havent played or interacted in the basketball urban culture at some point.

Nash is talking from 1 perspective... another perspective might not go & come so quickly or....smoothly...
