As they do in their columns and on-air spots, the reporters at these post-games are just trying to add meaning and perspective to what is, at the end of the day, just sports. So, in my opinion, one shouldn't try to take it out of that context, ie. it is just sports commentary and not something to get all bent out of shape about. Question asked, question answered. It all seemed to have been handled pretty well.

That said: I wish Durant had been asked: So, you gotta love Perkins having had yet another monster game, eh?

As happy as I am that Dallas put the screws to Oklahoma, I can't help but to feel bad for Durant. He seems to do everything right, every press conference is dull for us to listen to but is smart for him to skirt any media backlash. I wonder if he's going to pack on some lbs this offseason, it's the one area he needs help. For a guy his weight, He was rippin boards like no tomorrow.

The question asked was a stupid one. In their anxiety to please the press both camera and pen the NBA, and all other pro sports, have legislated that players HAVE to speak to the press whenever asked or face a fine. This makes it a lot easier for reporters and the result is a dearth of sports journalists who are even competent.

Like the dude who wrote this piece.
