Is it that much of a stretch to take Jimmer at 12? They still have a solid pick at 3 and some good pieces to work with for the future. I think the “what if” factor is too big to pass up on. If J.J. Barea can play at this level with half the jump shot of Fredette, Jimmer has a good chance to be good.

How many people doubted John Stockton? Too small, not athletic enough, won’t be able to defend NBA players, etc.

I for one will find another team to root for if they’re going to put a basketball decision like this in the hands of their business side. They were making shaky enough drafting decisions already without handing the decision making power to people more worried about the money than anything else.
