1) Aside from Bryant, the Lakers “core” players are all on the wrong side of 30 (fact!);
2) Fisher’s over the hill and the Lakers desperately need a young starting point guard;
3) Downtown Brown was the wrong hire as the Lakers new head coach;
4) The triangle offense is dead, as is in defunct, finito, finished in LA;
5) Odom and his traveling sideshow wife need to go; and
6) Kobe and Brown are going to lock horns sooner than later, and this time Kobe’s going to come out on the wrong end of things because Brown is Jim Buss’ hired man and Jim is going to back him to the fullest!

Print this out and pull it out half way through next season (whenever there is one), and then let’s compare notes!

Like you really think that Laker Homers, Bandwagoner’s and Honks aren’t going to get their panties all in a knot over me posting anything that isn’t all “goody two shoes” about their team? Give me a break! Denial is not a river in Africa, but there’s an awful lot of denial on this board!

The current Heat and Bulls rosters are NOT built the same way, but as is always the case with statistics if you try hard enough (in this case by quantifying the number of free agent signings while conveniently ignoring the quality in those signings), you can make spin it to match your point of view.

The four key players on the Heat IMO are: Haslem and Wade who are home grown, and Le Bum and Bosh who were imported free agents.

The key players on the Bulls? Asik, Noah, Gibson, Rose and Deng are all home grown; only Boozer was imported as a free agent and Boozer’s impact pales when compared to that of adding both Le Bum and Bosh.

Furthermore, the Bulls had to give away popular starting guard Kirk Heinrich in order to clear cap space to sign Boozer, whereas the Heat didn’t dump anyone as good as Heinrich in order to clear cap space to sign Bosh and Le Bum.

As for the other free agents the Bulls signed who are in Tibs rotation? Bogans is a journeyman now on something like his 5th NBA team. Brewer was considered a draft bust and isn’t an impact player by any stretch of the imagination. Korver has never been regarded as anything other than a limited role player and Shorty Watson doesn’t count because he was acquired in a trade with Golden State.

Bottom line? How these two teams were built is an apples vs. cabbages comparison.

I never fingered you or anyone else as being a Laker bandwagoner; what I posted though is that when it comes to Laker fans in addition to there being a lot of bandwagoners, there are a lot of blindly loyal Laker Homers and wannabe Laker Honks mainly down in the OC. I stand by that post.

Win or lose tonight, my Bulls have had a remarkable season, as nobody predicted that they’d come anywheres near 50 wins this year, much less have the leagues best regular season records. That’s cause for celebration, not despair.

Finally, my flurry of posts on the dumbfounded hiring of Mike Brown by the Lakers WERE MEANT TO BE HUMOROUS! I’m not “hating” on Brown at all; I just think he was the wrong guy for the job but wish him the best just the same. Seriously.

Keep in mind that the Lakers have tried going the rookie coach route a couple of times without success before… once with Kurt Rambutt, the other time with Magic Johnson.

I don’t care what sports talk callers think either, but I do care about what the general pulse is on any hot topic. In this case only the most optimistic Laker Homers are cautiously optimistic.

Yes, I admitted to having an absolute ball with this blog yesterday, but I just found the news to be so funny I just couldn’t contain myself!

I don’t hate the Lakers; I hate the large segment of their fan base who are bandwagoners and “pretty people”. I also have ZERO respect for Kobe ever since he bought his way out of a felony rape charge in Colorado too. There’s a difference.

First, no one can predict the future. It is obvious that you sincerely believe Mike Brown will be a failure as the head coach of the Lakers. In the end, only time will tell. If Brown wins a championship, he will be celebrated. If he fails to win a title, he will be viewed as a failure. Simple as that. This is the Lakers. The expectation is to win titles.

Second, who cares what the LA sports talk radio listeners think? Those people are all over the board. I used to live in Orange County. I remember when people wanted to fire Mitch Kupchak. Then the Lakers pulled off the Pau Gasol trade, and Kupchak was viewed as a great GM. The bottom line is that no successful franchise can be directed by the whims of sports talk radio listeners.

Again, the bottom line is that only time will tell how this will work out. I have no idea why you are so confident this will end in failure. You are entitled to your opinion. However, I think you are once again allowing your hatred for the Lakers to cause you to be a bit over zealous in your posts.

I have posted since the Bulls-Heat matchup became official that the Bulls were a liter shy of a gallon going into the series because they have no legitimate 2nd reliable scoring option, and that Boozer has a history of disappearing in big games. No surprise here; the Bulls are a very young, inexperienced team, but at least they weren’t BOUGHT!

I can also see by your post that you are just another loser bandwagoner fan too. Hey pal, it’s easy to jump on a winning bandwagon, but the company you keep while doing so are also just a bunch of losers. True fans stick by their teams through thick and thin… and I’ve been an unwavering Bulls fan since their inception.

The first thing Kobe’s liable to do is to place his hand with 5 NBA championship rings across his four fingers and thumb and ask Bonehead Brown: “How many of these do you have?”. Uh-oh!

How many of you remember the problems Kobe had with Del Harris when he was the Laker’s head coach? Like you really believe that a coach with a significantly lesser resume is going to be readily embraced and accepted by Kobe?

Very few “sons of the owner” ever approach their Father’s success, and Jim Buss is of course one of those and Hank Steinbrenner is another. Watch and see; cheap Hank has painted the aging Yankees into a corner that will result soon in a long period of mediocrity.

What really boggles my mind though is how the Lakers could commit not only to a guaranteed $18.5M in money, but moreso FOUR YEARS years for Brown when unemployed Brown had zero negotiating leverage!

Kobe is on record as saying that he wanted a “defensive minded coach”, and while Brown may turn out to be one, the bottom line is that the Lakers are getting old and lack the speed and athleticism to even approach the defense exhibited this playoff season by much younger Chicago and Miami squads. Even a great magician can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear you know!

Historically great players (in any sport), rarely make great coaches or executives, because they tend to be very impatient and can’t relate to players who simply don’t have their natural God given skills.

Ted Williams was a big flop as a baseball manager, because he simply couldn’t grasp why so many players couldn’t see the rotation on a baseball all the way from out of their hands to when it reached home plate (as he could).

Michael Jordan thusfar has been a lousy NBA executive too, having made gaffes like picking Kwame Brown way too high in the NBA draft. Jordan doesn’t understand why an athletically gifted player doesn’t have the drive or the heart to excel.

Kobe in the past has shown enormous impatience with his peers at times. Managing them as a head coach would even be worse.

Larry Bird had a lot of success as an NBA coach, but Larry came from a very modest Indiana small town background and had the humility to go along with his ego to succeed. Magic Johnson’s stint as head coach of the Lakers? Not so much.

Listening to LA’s Mason and Ireland Show on ESPN LA radio today, it’s OBVIOUS that the vast majority of Laker fans are really pissed off by this hiring, and frankly IF I were a Laker fan, I would be too.

That’s no reason though not to be able to sit back and watch the fur fly!!!

Obviously I can understand though why Laker fans would be pissed off that I’m rubbing salt in the old wound, but the opportunity as someone suffering from “Laker Fatigue” is just WAY too good to pass up!

Now I understand where ur true disdain for Mr. Brown comes from Mr. Pursue, and so do u. I don’t have to blaze it across the internet or hide it behind supposed humor. U have mad it obviously clear. Whether u dislike the franchises decision or not, I find it particularly interesting that u would suggest that fan would get a rope, a horse and auction the hanging of Mike Brown. The second time it happens, I’ll bring the rope and depend upon Laker fans to bring the horse and find the closest nearby big tree!!! I’m sure that we can find a local needy charity (the Union Rescue Mission downtown immediate comes to mind), to give the money paid by the highest Laker fan bidder to smack the horse on the rump once Brown is on it and ready to go under the tree too!!! (having too-oooo much fun here!!!).
