I never said that I met Walter Payton “once” now did I?
I worked at Soldier Field for 4 years and talked to Walter many times along with lots of other players.
Maybe you should refrain from assuming or making up your own version of the facts because it just might make you sound like a jerk.

If all of these people act like an a hole towards you then did it ever occur to you that it is because of you?
Either that you have never met even one and you just generalize people based on something you read somewhere.

some of u seem to not know what arrogant is. pepesmith88 says nash “seems” decent n philtration says he “met” walter payton “once” and he wasnt an a-hole. hmmm, again, u guys are free to believe what u want, but if u think meeting someone “once” is how they are 24/7, then i’ll let u believe what u want. trust me, its like when politicians say they’re “humbled” to be elected. no they’re not!!! Superstar athletes are arrogant. thats not a bad thing as long as you know how to check it at times.

Not sure where you got the information that all superstar athletes are arrogant.

Steve Nash looks like a decent person.

I am sure there are others out there who at least have a sense of humility knowing what made them superstars is a combination of hard work and their talent, not their personality.

Charles Barkley gets paid to shoot his mouth off and stir up controversy. He realizes that a lot of people think of him as a clown, he plays off that perception, and he laughs all the way to the bank.

Yea boston’s 3 doesnt have commercials on espn and it was never brought up when they did it .Wait there were stories everywhere. Jordan & Pippen top 50 players of all time Child Please! The haters keep hatin as the heat fight through the playoffs, Most teams have some type of “pep rally” before the season and everyone decided to cover this 1 with the three kings or whatever they called themselves. Stop agreeing with Snoopy2014 its people with “Mob” mentality that just talk out there a$$ and dont really pay attention just go with the flow.

Philtration is not about being pouty its about disrespecting him and his teamates. All the things he says about the Heat he himself has done as a player. He should know better. Pierce,Rondo,Garnett,Wade,Lebron,Dwight Howard, Kobe and on and on would do the same if their team was being disrespected and so would you.

Charles Barkley is a joke. He only says things to stir up drama. If you asked me people that stir up drama are bitches. He likes to fuel the rest of the Heat haters. His criticism is not constructive. Its mostly personal/behavioral comments he makes. He never really breaks the game down if you pay attention to him when speaking on the Heat. He came on our local sports radio show 790 The Ticket saying he picked Miami to be Boston and got exposed by StuGotz. They even played the audio of him choosing the Celtics the next day to prove to the listeners what a joke he is. Every circus has a clown but people out there along with himself do not realize he is the clown.

Snoopy2014 so I guess pep rallies are taboo in sports. The bottom line is the celebration was for Miami not for the rest of the world and there is nothing wrong with that. I would’ve been more concerned if LeBron had said “hopefully we can get 1 or 2 championships”. Being that D-Wade is a star now Chuck might’ve just lost himself his contract with T-Mobile.maybe next time he will think before spending all year bashing one team. Go Heat!!!

Fans will always forgive the sins of their players. Its what makes us fans. Garnett is a legitimate a-hole, but C’s fans love him. Kobe’s arrogant, but Lakers fans love him for what he’s done (rightfully so). Heat fans who were Heat fans before the summer of 2010 should support their own team, no doubt. Can’t fault anyone for that. It’s the people who jumped on the Heat bandwagon after July 2010 that are annoying.

Generally, people found celebrating before winning a title arrogant. It’s reasonable. No team has signed a FA and then organized a special party with lights, smoke, a stage, and their stars preening on stage. It undervalued how hard teams work to win a championship. They acted like simply by signing their contracts, they had been guaranteed the Larry O’Brien trophy. American sports fans generally hate arrogance, so it’s not surprising.

I totally agree with snoopy2014. The way that the big three got together and the arrogance they showed in doing so is why a lot of people, like me, hate them. If they had gone about it in a quieter manner, like jordan with pippen or boston’s big three, they would just be another team people are jealous of, but their preseason celebration just gave people fuel for the fire. Not a smart move by any stretch of the imagination.

Not that I like Barkley or anything, but his comments weren’t that far off. “Whiny” was a bit harsh. But he was correct in the other part of his statement, when he says the Heat aren’t really taking responsibility for WHY many people hate them so much. For a lot of people (and Barkley), it was the on-stage celebration and the statement that they were going to win 6-7 rings. But instead of acknowledging that might have turned people off, they act like the world just hates them for no reason – topped off with Wade’s “the Heat are losing, the world’s a better place now.” That was a bit whiny.

Barkley’s annoying, but he’s kinda right. You can’t hold a championship celebration before the season and then pout and act surprised when people criticize you. Man up and take it.

I love Barkley as a commentator but something tells me he has not gotten over the fact that these superstars joined forces to win a ring. If I remember correctly he was very critical of the heat when they did this. Calling out lebron by saying he will never be better than MJ now and saying several other key things to bring them down. I personally think he should get over it already.

I love Charles Barkley, one of my favorite NBA “personalities.” Kenny Smith is cool too… in fact, the whole ESPN and TNT bunch are always fun to listen to and watch even though sometimes there is the ocassional bias(but who can stop that in sports?)
