1) unless their divorced or aren’t together I doubt Doc lives in Boston all year around. And if they aren’t together, Austin Rivers won’t be the only kid in the world with parents that live in two different cities.

2) There probably isn’t a single soon to be college freshman in the world that wants their parents following them around. So I doubt Austin is losing sleep over this.

The big Three still have the abilities needed to make a championship run….they just need a stronger and stronger supporting cast as each year goes on. This year the supporting cast wasn’t there (either by injury, traded away, or just plain sucking).

The Celtics should use the next two years or so collecting puzzle pieces for the future.It’s sad to imagine this, but the Big Three + Shaq will probably never be closer to a championship again. Shaq’s injury seems quite nasty, so he will probably retire this summer. KG and Ray Allen still got around three years left, and PP may be able to play even longer. If the Celtics get lucky and find a talented young center before the Big Three retires … maybe … they might have a chance …

Yes, Doc Rivers is the first coach or professional athlete to ever not step down /retire so he can watch his kid play college basketball. He’s also the first coach/player to not live with his athlete child through high school and college. Idiot.

If they can sign Green for a reasonable amount, dump the 3rd stringers they picked up late in the year, and maybe even work something out with Ray Allen to spread his 10 mil option over the next two years.

Then they could keep JO as a backup center, Shack can retire, and they could free up 7-10 mil a year to try to find a starting center, and maybe another roll player.

I bet Austin Rivers is thrilled to hear his dad will continue in his role of absentee father, virtually never seeing him play at Duke. Then again if Austin lives up to the hype, he could be playing for his dad within a year or two. Never could understand the dynamics of a dad living in Boston, a mom living in Orlando, and a son trying to live up to the expectations like Austin has on him. Pretty amazing.

Its unlikely they will be “BETTER” even after rebuilding, its near on impossible to get perfect complimentary pieces like Garnett, Allen and Pierce together all at once. Hall of famers that are selfless and commited totally to total defense. Good luck!

well if rivers is staying with the Cs like its reported and for atleast 3 more years ,, then the Cs are certainly going to make that team BETTER and younger for the future and also be a contender in the eastern conf with alot of new players in the off season ,, thats for sure especially if doc is staying for atleast 3 or 4 more years !!! l;ol
