Philly talk show hosts absolutely brain wash the fans. That’s how the sports talk show hosts get paid, they get people all riled up and they will call in to the show. More people will call in to complain than to just talk about sports. I couldn’t believe the first time I heard a couple of those shows.

Iggy is another Philly athlete that hasn’t gotten the respect he’s deserved because of the idiots on talk radio that only look at his salary and his jump shot and think he sucks. Then the fans jump on the bandwagon. Meanwhile he’s a top 5 defender, unselfish player who fills the box score. Collins loves him. Having said that, I would not be totally against trading him for someone like Gay or Kaman because the Sixers have guys with somewhat similar abilities in Turner and Young and those guys would net a more balanced roster.

Every time they gave him the ball in tight games down the stretch, I would cringe. Guy can’t shoot and still jacks up jumpers instead of using his supreme athletic ability. I will be glad to see him leave. He wants to be a superstar but doesn’t seem to put in the time in the gym to make it happen. Look at Rose, struggled with his shot and what did he do? Went into the gym every day and worked on the shot until it became consistent. I honestly think Turner can provide what he does and has a larger upside at this point.

As Sixers fan for many years I hope they can unload this overpaid
under acheiving make believe superstar. How can you play in the
league 7 years and not develop a consistent jump shot or any move
other than a dunk. I never wanted them to resign him, Josh Smith
would have been a far better fit. So long Iggy you’ve stole enough
money here!

Am I the only Sixers fan who has been hoping for this moment ever since we got Elton Brand? Iggy can’t score efficiently, his basketball IQ is mediocre, and he just doesn’t utilize the talents he has with any of the four coaches he’s been with. He’s a good player on sheer athletic ability, but he’s not the player the Sixers need.
