It is all talk right now. The Lakers will walk the walk or not. If they win tonight the noose will tighten in Dallas.

Dallas needs to stop relying so much on their jumpers. Sooner or later shooting primarily from the perimeter is going to burn you. Dallas can survive off nights by some peopel better than most teams because of the sheer number of outstanding shooters they have, but there are going to be those nights when nothing falls.

Game 2 really shouldn’t have even been as close as it was. During the third quarter, there was one stretch of about five minutes where Dallas seemed to literally shoot nothing but three-pointers. Shoot, miss, rebound, pass it outside, shoot another one, and miss it, too. Had they brought the game in just five feet they could have had 5-10 more points during that stretch.

I think the Mavericks will consciously attempt to be more of an inside team tonight, because that won’t be what the Lakers are expecting.

Time for the Repeat World Champion Lakers to become Road Warriors and duplicate the Mavs in winning two on the road. The Lakers are a great road team so winning two in Dallas won’t be that much of a challenge if they put their minds to it. The Lakers have played poorly because they’ve gotten away from what makes them successful, playing team basketball. They need to make better passes and just sink those easy open shots they’ve missed the first two games, plus make their free throws. If they improve their offense the Mavs won’t have so many easy transition baskets. An exciting game in store tonight as the Repeat World Champion Lakers will show they have the right stuff to Threepeat this June!
