Mildly sprained ankles loosen up with activity and start to feel fine, but you can bet Kobe will pay for this fantastic dunk with a weakened and painful, probably swollen ankle. Watch the game again: especially in the 1st quarter, Kobe had a bit of a hobble that disappeared with time. He's hurt alright, and he'll need to be especially careful not to bend his ankle the wrong way again. - LA fan

It's the playoffs. Everyone plays hurt. The veterans on the teams that knew their playoff fates early rested more than normal. Kobe was down to 28 minutes a game towards the end. Bench guys get longer rotations. It's a science, that's why the perenial playoff teams tend to be the higher seeds. Although Memphis is pretty hot right now.
GO LAKERS.

LAKERS FAN HERE.

Kobe's ankle was never injured. This is all part of the plan by Phil and Kobe to fool teams into thinking the Lakers are playing badly. Did you see Kobe last night? There is no way his ankle is injured. Even the replay of the "injury" looked very staged. Kobe may be a true baller, but he isn't that good of an actor.

I was never fooled, though I did put a fake cast on my Kobe Bryant Action Figure - Playoff Edition to help with the ruse. I don't want Kobe getting mad at me.
