Video: Watch Chris Paul abuse Derek Fisher

Apr 25, 2011, 1:10 PM EDT

Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant reacts as he stands behind New Orleans Hornets Chris Paul during Game 1 of their NBA Western Conference first round playoff basketball game in Los Angeles Reuters

Chris Paul was masterful on Sunday, and we should watch that one more time.

We could show you his absolute stunning moves on Andrew Bynum in isolation, or any one of 15 sweet assists.

But nothing shows why this series is tied like the difference in play at point guard. And nothing illustrates that like this play.

Actually I think Fisher has played pretty well in this series. His job isn’t to outplay Paul. The difference in this series has been that the Lakers’ best 5 players should be in the top 6 players in the series. They haven’t. Kobe has to defend better, among other problems.

A small part of me was expecting to see CP beating up Fisher. Title is misleading hahaha

That literally happened about 6 seconds after CP turned it over on the other end.

Lakers are really gonna have to learn how to defend the pick and roll if they hope to win this series. It killed me to watch the Hornets run the same play over and over again and end up with Bynum trying to defend Paul
