The fire Rambis clique is a bit ungracious. Think about it; here's a team who has no point-guard (arguably the most important piece), no center, and no reliable shooting guard. Sure, on paper they look better than last year's squad, but not that much better. The projected point-guard, Jonny Flynn, has not developed. Luke Ridnour is a back-up PG forced into the starting role. Darko Milicic, with good size and skills has either a motivational problem, or medical problem, that prevents him from being effective. The shooting guards can't shoot with any consistency and can't create their own shots. They are either on, or off, so the coach can't really tell whom to start because none of them is of starter quality.
He has to try to figure out who's hot, or who matches up. Usually you don't get much out of that position. His Power Forward, Kevin Love, is a 'tweener who is two inches shorter than listed and gets posted up with regularity (cf last game against Zach Randolph of Memphis), and his Small Forward is a converted Power Forward who is having trouble adjusting to his new role, though he has been sidelined often this season due to ankle and hip injuries. The team has also been decimated by injuries and absences all year. Tough to put the onus on one guy, no matter how much your second-guessing is better than his coaching.
Who was the player that said Rambis' coaching scheme is too confusing? You
don't identify the source. If you can't do that, how can we trust the statement?
If it was Jonny Flynn, well, he does have trouble learning, and he has trouble following orders. Too bad Rambis didn't bench him long ago, but Kahn wanted him played. If you want to win more you need better players before you need
new coaching. What will a new coach get the Timberwolves? Maybe 20+ games?
That's not going to help. Whoever the new coach is, you can't get much more out of this squad. You can't coach scrubs, no matter your reputation.

You can motivate them by not making their contracts guaranteed, like the NFL does. Once a player gets paid (Steph Marbury) and then flat quits is the problem. The owners are realizing that, thus the LOCKOUT still start this summer. Owners will lose less money by not playing games. The idiots who blow their phat wad of cash on their 11th car will be the ones suffering. Unless your name is Latrell Spreewell and 10 million can't feed your family.

Owners listen too much to sports talk radio dorks and the stupid fans that call in.
What the "REAL" owners need to do is go down to the locker room sometime and scream and yell at the players and watch them look up with that "FU.. I'm getting paid" look and then look away and ignore you.
Maybe then you will have a slight idea of the disrespect these modern coaches have to put up with try to motivate a teamadonna team.
Some of these players don't want to be there and play like it.
You cannot motivate the unmotivated unless they are willing to help themselves and
if you step your game up, you look like a coaches lap dog.
This is where Rambis is at.
Good Luck with that grease fire Kurt.
