Jason Terry calls Matt Barnes soft as “toilet paper”

The fight — well, what passes for a fight in the NBA, Jason Terry pushed Steve Blake, they bumped chests, Matt Barnes came flying in to play protector, there was a lot more pushing  — was Thursday night, but the war of words has continued into Friday.

Mark Cuban blasted Chris Webber over calling the team soft.

Then Jason Terry went on the Colin Cowherd show on ESPN and took a shot at the third-man in, Matt Barnes (via The Sports Grid).

“That is a guy who is as soft as Charmin toilet paper,” Terry said.

Barnes has not responded, which is wise because he’s almost certainly got a suspension coming from the league as it is. But as Janis Carr pointed out at the Orange County Register, Barnes may already have responded through his clothing line.

Okay, “kill” in my opinion is a bit overstated for professional athletes, but Jason Terry’s “toilet paper” remark shows that he’s having trouble getting over a bad game and bad prospects for the rest of the season.

Or it could be that Jason Terry is making light of the situation. Calling him “The Charminator”. Pretty funny if you ask me. Terry was obviously just having a little bit of fun.

And if Blake’s career in the NBA doesn’t pan out, he should consider taking up pro soccer. Terry barely extends his arm (hardly a shove) and Blake acts like he was slammed in the back by a linebacker. Ridiculous.

He’s having fun with the situation? Humor? I thought his aunt just died and that he’s out of sorts.

Here’s the obvious fact: Jason Terry is a punk who can’t take a loss like a man. And to the rest of The Mavs that dished out the hard fouls at the end of the game, it will be an extra pleasure whacking you guys out of the playoffs. Thank you for the extra motivation.

You saw all this on TV, I didn’t.you vivid imagination.

How about the kid that flagrant fouled Gasol.

It doesn’t matter anyway, the Lakers already told the Mavs, we will beat your soft ass
by thirty tonight and beat you on your body as a reminder of what is to come in the playoffs should we clash.Mamba has told his inforcers, Artest and Barnes it’s time to get down and dirty fellas, I will handle the scoring with my Spainard and Big O.

rapmusic, if Barnes is Charmin soft, then Gasol is soft as the fur on a newborn kitten! For that matter, when Bynum’s not in the lineup the Lakers are marsh-mellow soft!!!

@ Gemini you’re softer than Charmin, you are you to say with your user name at “gemini” who are you some little b***h who cries over his horoscope on a daily basis?
    Man up you little girl.

The funny thing about the fight was Dirk was hiding around mid-court.heheheheheheheeheheh
Hey Cubie, guess what, your team is soft, ask Miami, they pimpin your gold ball.

That was bright Mr. Terry. As if the Lakers didn’t have enough weapons coming off the bench, it’s personal for Barnes now.

It’s HILARIOUS looking at all the ” thumbs down ” a responder will get if he makes any inclination that the lakers are OVER-HYPED / OVER-RATED !!! A lot of times I make comments just to watch the bandwagoners response(s). ahahahahaha.
At the end of the day, all those 6’7″, 195 pound paper weight NBA guys are soft. None of them have any true fighting skills or even know how to throw a punch! I remember watching Alonzo Morning trying to fight, dude could not beat my teenage niece, who is only 5’8″. As rail-thin as those guys are, they would have a hard time beating any average person on the street.
So, the biggest threat to the little girlie pushing and chest bumping is, someone may get the other guys sweat in their mouth….ahahahaha !

    Charmin Barnes!!!!

  8. weaponx2020 - Apr 2, 2011 at 2:10 PM

almost as soft as kobe…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ARqfUGF2RA

he’s good at acting tough and starting fights (like his fake stare down last night). but take a look at that video. kobe’s never thrown his hands in his entire life… except whiffing on a 6 foot chris childs and looking silly

Two NBA players calling one another soft is pretty funny IMO.. 99% of the players in the league are soft.. I would say 100%, but we can’t exclude the likes of Artest.. Your’re not tough when you just talk sh** while bumping chests, you’re a f’ng high schooler.. I’m actually a Lakers fan and I think Barnes is a little bit of a b**** as of late.. Just shut your mouth and play, quit jumping into other peoples quarrels.. Does Blake really need protection against Terry?? Seriously, Jason Terry?? Did Bynum need Barnes to jump into the Beasley incident?? To me it just looks like Barnes loves to talks sh**
